ALAN HIRSCH

Southview's Discipleship Pathway

Our mission here at Southview is “to lead as many as possible to passionately follow Jesus.”

The local church is the primary place that God intends to make and form disciples. We desire to see the Kingdom of God bringing transformation, renewal and life to our lives and our world.

So as we look to these coming years and our mission as a church, we know we need to come together more than ever in our journey of following Jesus and learn from each other on how to grow as disciples who make disciples.

With that – we are over the coming years going to be intentionally creating environments to help us move deeper in Christ and grow our skills in leading others to passionately follow Jesus. This isn’t just another program for us to attend, it is a way of life.

God is not interested in creating an audience; he wants participants. Here at Southview, we desire to create a culture of discipleship, and so we are calling on everybody to participate. We want to get all our people (kids, youth, adults, seniors) involved in the mission of building up the body of Christ.

This is about legacy… and it starts with you and me.

Our First Year Events

September 14 & 21, 2022 | “How to Read Your Bible”

We joined together in learning about Bible genre, translations, context, narrative and inspiration.

April 6, 2022 | “Communion”

Do we really understand the meaning and significance behind Jesus’ command to “Take and eat”? Is it more than just remembering? Is it necessary to partake of it in community as a body of believers? Is there a future aspect that this ordinance points us toward?

A great resource to watch is from our sermon series on “The Final 24” from March 12, 2022.

December 8, 2021 | “The Spiritual Habit of Prayer”

What is prayer? Prayer is as simple as talking to God. But it can also be more than that. It can be a powerful encounter, when as the Psalmist says, “deep calls to deep.” What is this kind of prayer experience? How can we grow and expand our prayer life beyond a simple flow of consciousness?

September 15 & 22, 2021 | “The Big God Story”

The local church is the primary place that God intends to make and form disciples. We desire to see the Kingdom of God bringing transformation, renewal of life to our lives and our world. So, as we look to these coming years and our mission as church we know we need to come together more than ever in our journey of following Jesus and learn from each other on how to grow as disciples who make disciples. Over the coming years we are intentionally creating environments to help us move deeper in Christ and grow our skills in leading other to passionately follow Jesus.
