The thing about Shane and Rod is that they just love Jesus, and they love people so much. On March 12/13, 2016, as part of our weekend services, Clyde talked with them about the “whys” and “hows” of sharing Jesus with the people they meet and work with. For these guys, it’s not about duty, or flexing their spiritual muscles to get people saved. It’s about love.
Baptism symbolizes that through faith in Christ we have been given a new Identity, as a child of God, forgiven and set free from sin. Baptism is also a public declaration that our allegiance has shifted from serving self and sin, to serving Christ and His kingdom. In this way we have chosen to walk a new pathway of Obedience to Christ. And baptism is a time when we fully embrace (if we have not already) the Presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives as the One who empowers us in Christ-likeness and mission.
